This is definitely a topic worth discussing – no matter what size your business is. Here in the Whitsundays I think we can all agree it has been a long and testing time for all of us since the arrival and departure of Tropical Cyclone Debbie (TCD).

I guess one way we can look at it though from a business point of view is like a “trial run”, to see what systems you have in place and how well they work in your business? Or, maybe you found, you don’t have any systems in place at all??

So like everything else here at Kapow Headquarters – we like to look at the positives and see what we can gain from this experience.

We would like to share with you some inspiration! Perhaps the “down time” caused by TCD provided time to even get a different perspective on things and thinking of things you hadn’t thought of for a while (or maybe even ever before) for your business. I think we can all agree that we’ve all had to make changes, to readjust to some degree.

The kinds of things you could have been thinking are

How do we recover from this?

How do we get people to keep coming back?

How can I reach customers?

How long will this impact our business?

What is the best way to maximise my efforts/time?

Is there something I need to know/any secrets to gain better ROI?

Well the answers to all of these questions are all positive! There are always ways to maximise your efforts and sometimes the smallest shifts in understanding business practice can literally be life changing!

One of the Training Courses at Kapow Interactive we have built is called Marketing Planning - Understanding Your Audience. If there are two things to take away from this course it is a better understanding of what you are doing and why you are doing it. Sometimes it’s good to just stop, take some time (get some appropriate tools) and set some clearer goals and strategies (on how you’re going to achieve them). The goal of understanding your audience is so that you can make better and wiser business decisions so that hopefully in the long run you can work smarter and not harder. For some of us we love what we do, however to be able to do things more efficiently and effectively… that’s ultimately more time to play!!!! And we all love that.
